Besse Cooper is the eighth person to reach 116.

A bridge in Georgia has been dedicated to the world's oldest living person, who turned 116 on Sunday (August 26th). Walton County honored Besse Cooper at a ribbon cutting ceremony where her son represented her. Cooper's son said, "The older she has gotten, the more wittier she has gotten." Cooper sent a message with her son, that said, "I'm glad I gave them a reason to name it." Cooper was born on August 26th, 1896 and is the eighth person in the world to reach the age of 116. (People)
