Taking Another Mystery Tour...
The Beatles' third film, Magical Mystery Tour, will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on October 9th, John Lennon's birthday. Developed by Paul McCartney and filmed in September 1967, it told the dreamlike story of a bus trip to the English seaside. The film first aired on U.K. TV that year on Boxing Day, December 26th.
Magical Mystery Tour has been restored and will be shown on October 2nd at the British Film Institute, along with a behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of the film. It will also air on October 5th on the BBC.
Magical Mystery Tour has appeared on DVD before, but this will be the first time it's been out on Blu-ray.
